One of our panelists for this year’s event is none other than Marilyn Santiago, a woman that is smashing glass ceilings in the male-dominated industries media and construction.
Few times you can find such a versatile, cool and talented human being as Marilyn Santiago. Born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Ms. Santiago has earned a dignified position in today’s business landscape. She recently transitioned from the media and entertainment industry to become a leader in construction and manufacturing. In October, 2015 Ms. Santiago fulfilled another dream and opened the doors to her second company, Creative Architectural Resin Products Inc. This milestone happened right after she celebrated her 25th anniversary as one of the most prolific professionals in the US Hispanic media and entertainment.
President of Creative Architectural Resin Products (CARP), Marilyn Santiago services the construction industry, as CARP designs, manufacture and install beautiful resin-based faux architectural trims and accents made from a Hi-density polymer resin material that assimilate the look and texture of natural materials. In less than two years, CARP has become a powerhouse in the architectural elements niche, showing an impressive growth and is poised for great success.
With the desire of enhancing the opportunities and success of women in the construction industry , Ms. Santiago joined the Southwest Florida Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction and was recently installed as a member of their Board of Directors in charge of strategic marketing. In addition, as president of Latin Entertainment Consultants, Marilyn Santiago specializes in media consulting and entertainment solutions for local and corporate clients. She has been the force behind successful deals for media outlets, entertainers, celebrities and local and national brands. She has also been instrumental in the success of many multitalented mega stars.
The City of Fort Myers appointed Santiago to the Special Events Advisory Board to oversee the production of cultural and artistic events that enhance the quality of life for the citizens of the city, and provide exposure and positive social and economic impacts for the city.
From an early age, “Sunshine” (as everybody calls her for her charisma, enthusiasm and good energy), showed a special connection with what has become one of her biggest passions in life… radio, which lead her into numerous awards for her works as an air on personality, program director and manager, both local and national.
Santiago’s passion for radio translated from on air personality at WOQI FM, to Operations Manager of Ponce Broadcasting in Puerto Rico to Director of Programming to Operations Manager for companies such as Hispanic Broadcasting/Univision Radio, Latino Broadcasting and Spanish Broadcasting System. Santiago served as faculty member of the CSB School of Broadcasting, to fill her passion of mentoring and fostering young talents. So far, she has been instrumental in the development of a new generation of multi talented media professionals.
As a visionary Santiago has been honored and recognized by prominent media entities, government and the private sector, including the highly coveted “Woman In Music Award” by the prestigious Billboard Magazine, plus “Woman Of The Year”, by Chicago Police Association and “Program Director of the Year” by Univision Radio are samples of Sunshine’s multiple accolades.
Santiago continues to grow and evolve as a powerful influencer, mentor and communicator. Always dedicated and passionate about work, life and especially God, Sunshine continues to brighten the lives of those around her…
